# PlanetScale

> Connect a PlanetScale database with our MySQL connector

To connect to PlanetScale from Equals, choose MySQL as the datasource type and follow the instructions below.

# Finding connection details

1. Find the database you want to connect to in the PlanetScale dashboard.
2. Click *Connect* in the top right.
3. In the modal that opens select *General* in the *Connect with* dropdown.
4. You will now see the **`database [name]`**, **`user`** and **`host`** for your database. The **`password`** was set when setting up the database. If you don’t know the password you can click *New password* above the connection details. Note: this will also update the username.
5. The **`port`** for PlanetScale is always `3306`.

# Allowing access from our IP

PlanetScale does not support limiting inbound connections by IP address and so no further action is required beyond the steps above.
