# Quickbooks

> Connect your QuickBooks instance to Equals

To create a new Quickbooks connection:

1. Go to the *Datasources* page from the Equals home screen.
2. If you're yet to add a datasource, you will see a list of available datasources. Otherwise, click *New Datasource* in the top right.
3. Select *QuickBooks*, then give your datasource a name that will be used throughout Equals
4. Click *Connect to QuickBooks* and follow the steps. You’ll be asked to connect via OAuth and then follow secondary steps to connect to your Quickbooks instance.

# Querying from Quickbooks

Once you've connected your QuickBooks instance, you will be able to query your Quickbooks data using either the Query Builder or SQL Editor. In addition, you will see a *Report Sync* option from the connections panel.

*Report Sync* will allow you to pull prebuilt reports from QuickBooks into your spreadsheet, so that you don’t need to write many lines of SQL to get your traditional P+L or General Ledger in a usable format.

By default, reports will populate the spreadsheet in the same format as they can be downloaded from QuickBooks. If you would like to reconfigure this data into a tabular format, you can select the *flatten file* toggle and your data will be displayed in a formula-friendly (tabular) manner.
