Create and configure the ARR Build Blueprint

Create and configure Daily ARR and Daily ARR by Customer tables that can be queried from any workbook.

ℹ️

Available with new Stripe connections only

The ARR Build Blueprint is currently only available for workspaces with new Stripe connections.

If you have an existing ARR build with a existing Stripe datasource, your existing ARR build and dashboards remain unchanged and will continue to work as normal. There is no action you need to take. We'll let you know once access to new features like corrections and exclusions are available in your workspace.

The ARR Build Blueprint provides you with a series of clean, analysis-ready views based on your raw Stripe data, which can be used to build accurate ARR analyses and reporting. These views include:

  • Daily ARR: Aggregates ARR movements by day, broken out by the components of ARR.
  • Daily ARR by Customer: Aggregates ARR movements by day and by customer.

While views are generally configured using custom SQL, you can configure your ARR Build Blueprint based on simple questions that define how your business recognizes ARR.

Once your Blueprint is configured, the associated Daily ARR and Daily ARR by Customer views are stored in your Equals Warehouse. This enables users in your workspace to query these views from any workbook (or from another view) for further analysis.

Creating your Blueprint

An ARR Build Blueprint is automatically created once the Equals team configures a Stripe datasource connection for your workspace. Note that you can create up to one Blueprint per Stripe instance.

To configure a Stripe datasource connection, contact us from the messenger icon in the bottom-right corner of your screen.

Once Stripe is configured, you'll see your Blueprint from the Views list.

📘

Default configuration

On creation, your ARR Build Blueprint will be set up with a default configuration. You can work with the Equals team to custom configure your ARR Build Blueprint for your business.

Configuring your Blueprint

During your Equals implementation trial, an Equals Expert will work with you to customize the configuration of your ARR Build Blueprint based on your answers to a series of questions, including:

  • When should you start tracking ARR for a new customer?
  • When should you stop tracking ARR for a churned customer?
  • How do you handle returning customers who have churned?
  • Should paid trials be included in ARR?
  • Should discounts affect ARR?
  • Which timezone should be used for daily ARR calculations?

Your answers to these questions will determine how ARR is recognized for your business, ensuring that your ARR Build is an accurate reflection of your business operations.

You can edit these settings anytime from the Configuration tab of your Blueprint.
