With Equals you can connect directly to datasources to query live data from your workbook. These datasources include popular SaaS tools, SQL databases and data warehouses.

There are 3 types of supported connectors on current pricing plans: Essential ($99/mo/connection), Standard ($299/mo/connection), and Enterprise (custom pricing).

Beyond supported datasources, import scripts can be used to build custom integrations with Equals pulling in data from outside sources such as third party API's.

Connecting to SaaS tools

To set up the datasources listed below, follow the setup guide from your Equals dashboard:

Navigate to the Datasources page from the Equals home screen
Click New to create a new datasource connection
Follow the on-screen setup guide to connect your datasource. Note: When connecting to an Enterprise datasource, you'll be prompted to schedule a setup call with our team.

Datasources: Hubspot, Intercom, Salesforce, Xero, Zendesk, Shopify, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Segment

Some datasources require additional setup steps. To connect to these datasources, follow the specific setup guide linked below:

Connecting to SQL databases and warehouses

To connect to a SQL database within Equals, you'll first need to find your connection details and then grant access to your hosting provider from our IP address.

Finding connection details

To find the connection details for your SQL database, follow the specific setup guide for your hosting provider:

If your hosting provider is not listed above, below is an explainer of each field.

Field name	Description
Connection name	This is what your datasource will be listed as throughout Equals.
Share with workspace	Give access to this datasource to all current and future members of your workspace.
Host	An IP address or hostname by which we can connect to your database.
Port	The port your database server is listening on.
Database name	The name of the database we should connect to on the provided host.
Username	The username to connect with.
Password	The password to connect with.
Default schema	(Postgres only, optional) Set the default schema for the connection.
SSH Tunnel	Optionally you can connect through an SSH tunnel.
SSH Username	The username to connect as on the host.
SSH Private Key	The SSH Private Key we should connect with.

Allowing access from our IP

When connecting to SQL databases (except for BigQuery) we will always connect from 54.68.61.53. Some providers and set ups likely require granting access on a per-IP basis. Use the following guides to learn how:

If your provider is not listed above follow your hosting providers instructions for allowing connections from 54.68.61.53. For MySQL, Postgres, and Redshift connections you may also connect through an SSH tunnel.
